“Personally Invested In your community”
Hello, I’m Jim Millbauer, Kennewick City Councilman Position 7. Kennewick has been my community for over 36 years, and I want to see the city of Kennewick continue to prosper and succeed!
Over the past three and a half years, I have enjoyed representing citizens and their concerns to ensure city policies are moving us in the right direction for economic growth and development, funding public safety, and supporting community enhancements that promote our quality of life. I want to continue to serve my home and community in a positive way, so I am proudly announcing my re-election campaign for Kennewick City Council.
I want to thank those who supported my last campaign and call upon your continued support and contributions to my re-election campaign. You can be sure that I am capable of leading the way in bringing people together, so that we can put Kennewick in a position to succeed. The only solution for moving forward is working together as one community.

Jim was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He came to the Tri-Cities in 1971 with his parents and seven siblings and graduated from Columbia High School in 1977. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Molly, in 1981 and together they had three children. Jim lost his wife unexpectedly in 2005 and his priority was finishing raising his children on his own. Jim met Kendell and the two married in 2011. Jim has six grandchildren with whom he enjoys spending time with doing activities such as camping, cheering for them at sporting events, school and theatrical productions, and passing down automotive and woodworking skill.
Jim entered the United Association Local 598 apprenticeship training in 1979 and has been a pipefitter since. Jim retired from HMIS at the Hanford Project in November 2021. He was the Project Chief Steward and the Business Agent for the pipefitters working under the local metal trade council, HAMTC. Jim served as the HAMTC grievance chair for 20 years. In that role, he facilitated the meetings and discussions between company representatives and union representatives to solve grievances. Jim also serves as a trustee on multiple trusts and organizations UA’s Health & Welfare Trust and the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC).
Inspired at a young age by his parents to give back to his community, Jim has spent his life giving to others. Jim serves his community through volunteerism and philanthropic endeavors for a variety of not-for-profit organizations. These include United Way of Benton-Franklin Counties (board of directors from 2004-2009), Bikes for Tikes, Lunch Buddies, Hanford Challenge Board, Benton Franklin Recovery Coalition Board, President of The Pacific Northwest Mustang Club, and the After School Matters Program.
“I have always felt serving others is my contribution and gratitude for the blessing of living in a wonderful community.”
Additionally, Jim freely spends his time volunteering for various local organizations in support of his children, grandchildren, and others throughout the community.
In Jim’s spare time he enjoys playing in the Mid-Columbia Senior Softball Association (he is also a board member), boating on the Columbia and Snake Rivers, RVing throughout the Northwest, hunting birds with his black Lab, wood working, amateur radio, and restoring his 1965 F-250 and 1965 Mustang.
Jim is running for Kennewick City Council Position #7 to bring his strong work ethic, his community commitment, and his skill to bring people together to work through complicated issues in crafting a positive resolution for the betterment of all.
